Class places and times
We meet in the Reading Room at Sibbertoft (a small village outside Market Harborough) at 7-9pm on Thursday evenings - the address is 17 Berkeley Street, Sibbertoft, LE16 9UF.
Everyone is welcome! Why not give us a try, the first two weeks are free.
We used to meet in central Market Harborough, and hope to find another town venue in the next couple of months.
Your instructor: Fox
I have over forty years of martial arts experience, starting with Fencing in 1985 and extending into Aikido in 1990. In 1992 I took up Taijiquan studying under Paul Brecher in London, a disciple of Erle Montaigue in the Old Yang Style. I earned my instructor's license in 1997. I have studied many styles and arts, and teach a full system of Taiji including:
- Zhan Zhuang - 'standing post', static standing exercises that train posture
- Tao Lu - 'the form', choreographed sequences of movements
- Qi Gong (Chi Kung) - breathing and energy work
- Tui Shou - pushing hands
- San shou - applications of the form movements
To be a complete art all Kung Fu styles must contain the four basics: Ti, Da, Shuai, Na. Kicking, striking, throwing, and locking. I teach all the applications of the forms movements.
